A Visit with Bandit

We went to visit Bandit at his new home in SF this weekend. It was so great to see him again. Bandit and his new BFFs, Wyatt and Avery, were in the garage as we drove in, and as soon as he saw me, his tail went crazy and he put his front paws up on my window. He gave me kisses all over. I don't think I have ever seen Bandit so excited to see me before. Usually he is very calm about it.

We all went to the park across the street.

Whereby Bandit immediately zoned in to his Crazy-Ball-Obsessed-Fetch mode.

Let's do it again!

And again!

Break time.

Hi Wyatt & Avery.

And again!

Ah, that was fun.

Can we do it again?

My favorite Popeye picture to date.

Bandit at the Beach

These are the awesomest pictures, not just because they are visually appealing or even because they are of a wonderful dog, but because they capture the pure unadulterated joy and zest for life that is so typically Bandit.

A Walk with Popeye

Going for a walk was the one thing we were never able to do with Popeye. He can move around freely in the house, and with his protective leg gear is able to play in the backyard as well as the dog park, as long as there is a grassy area. But with the hard concrete outside, we could never allow him to drag himself along the sidewalk. In the early days, when he was smaller and lighter, I was able to strap him to a sling and hold his rear end up. But as he grew, the weight was too much, so out of necessity, our walks came to consist of me pushing him around in the baby stroller.

However, now that he has his Eddie's Wheels, a walk with Popeye can finally be just that.

Popeye's New Wheels

A big thank you to Eddie's Wheels.

Day 1

Day 2

(Popeye was fine after that fall.)

Day 3
I strained my back on Day 3 and was mostly bed-ridden. I am still recovering now so there haven't been any more adventures on wheels. That will soon change hopefully.

These 2 videos have been banished from YouTube for copyright infringement of the music. I'm sure others will follow. For now, they have a new home.
