Eating on 2 Legs

Before surgery, Popeye would often lift his butt up in the air when eating with his back legs dangling under him, so this isn't a surprise.

does he seem in pain at all?

great to see that he has an appetite! I have this urge to put a cushion under his butt, for padding and stability (although it's obvious he doesn't need it). Wonder if he is experiencing phantom pain?

He doesn't seem to be in pain. I don't think dogs experience phantom pain like humans do (they also don't usually have issues with blood clots, per the surgeon), plus he never really had feeling in those legs anyway.

But I will be modifying (trying to at least) his mermaid pants with some cushioning for his butt and his stumps. He still hops / bounces off the ground like a kangaroo when he gets excited.

P.S. Whatever was causing that neck craning is still there, though his neck doesn't crane so much now since he doesn't have to twist his body. But my next priority is to figure that out.
