Morning Tug

Think a 25-lb paralyzed dog with no back legs isn't a match for a frenzied pitbull? Think again.

It's a relief not to have to worry that Phoebe might accidentally jump or step on Popeye's rear legs.

They are so cute. What a beautiful, sweet "pit" bull.

I can't decide if not having back legs has made Popeye the tough dude he is today, or if he had back legs, he'd be hell on wheels... oh wait, he is hell on wheels! Go Popeye! Loki would TOTALLY dig this Formosan bad boy.

And that Phoebe...she looks terrifying... terrifyingly cute! good lord, she's just awfully irrisistable!

I have a feeling it's the first--that not having back legs has made Popeye the tough dude he is today. You should have known him when we first got him. He had no inhibition, no sense of "pack," and no bond to anyone. I called him a Savage because that's what he was. He was a true survivor, all hardness and unharnessed toughness--even as a 12-lb 5-month old puppy!

Having lived with us has really softened him up. The gradual transformation has been amazing and rather gratifying to watch. You should compare how he used to play with Bandit to how he now plays with Phoebe and sometimes Boomer.

As for Phoebe, ah, if everyone could have one of her. The world would be a happier place.
