Popeye has been scratching his ears quite a bit for the past several months. Even the allergy medications like atopica and prednisone did not seem to do much for his ears, making me wonder if the problem is something other than allergy-related. The vets could find nothing wrong. Maybe he was scratching it so much he irritated it even further.
Whatever the case, after reading this on Sugar's blog, I decided to do what Crazy Lady did. Yes, that is a pair of Hanes on his head.

ahhh, what is it about men's underwear and the size & shape of a FMD head?
It worked great for Sugar. So...did it work for Popeye? Did you have to make any modifications and/or adjustments?
No mods. Just slipped it over his head. I put it on Popeye before putting him to bed, but he had pulled it down sometime during the night. I only tried it that one night because the next day I started using some new ear drops and he doesn't seem to be scratching as much.

Hey, I think I brought you over Nigel! cool. He's a cool dude to read! (Life with dogs)... and Popeye looks a bit like Lucy in the episode about vegemetamin... or the making chocolates episode! LOL! poor popeye. we MUST figure out what's wrong with those delightful FMD ears!
ps. started feeding raw...this is my 3rd day. they love it! it's a bit of a pain at first but i think i'll find a rhythem...started wtih honest kitchen and raw meat/veggie and fruit patties. also give them a big raw bone....
Oh Popeye, I am so sorry for humiliation. Now everyone knows, even Malaysia, of your silly underwear head gear.
I especially love the little top knot Popeye! Wow, Malaysia, Taiwan, Guatemala, you are quite the famous, and handsome dog, even with underwear on you head.
